This board will add wireless XBee / nRF24L01+ control as well as GSM/GPRS connectivity to your projects. It’s great for anything from home automation to robot control. The possibilities are endless!

Gboard can be used as a GSM/GPRS data transfer or wireless communication project development platform. Gboard support wide range power supply and Micro SD for mass storage. There are some 3pin electronic brick/ sensor brick interface breakout on board, it offer an easy way for a quick prototyping. The board requires FTDI basic board to upload sketch, you can use our Foca board to do it.

Note:

  • 1. There is no USB connector on the board nor is there any USB hardware, you have to use a serial connection or ICSP.
  • 2. When you upload sketch to Gboard, please choose the board Arduino Duemilanove w/ ATmega328Bootloader.
  • 3. The bootloarder file is ATmegaBOOT_168_atmega328.hex, you can find it in the directory arduino\hardware\arduino\bootloaders\atmega

Hello!

I like the flexibility of the UART settings jumpers, which allows you to configure combination of AVR pin (D0-D3) is used for XBee socket DIN/DOUT.

However, I would like to suggest an improve for the next revision of this board. Please make the Foca-socket (7x1-pin socket on the back) also use DIN/DOUT instead of hardwiring it to D0/D1 of the AVR. This way the UART jumpers gives you the same freedom when using the Foca serial adapter.

This is an excellent board to start with, however, you may find yourself out of the SRAM (only 2K available on 328P). It would be excellent, if this would have the ATMEGA 1280 - just like Arduino MEGA... This design actually more preferable than mega+SIM900 shield, as the shield uses the 5V supplied by Arduino - meaning SIM900 will never be able to get 3A from arduino board, but THIS specific GBOARD actually solves this issue - full 3A available to SIM900!!! - the only drawback is the smaller CPU... The reason i am saying that, it's because i unfortunately came across the product issue, but later so, solved! I bought from this company a lot, but this was my first time to contact them, they replied promptly and helped me get it sorted out. I will definetely recommend ITEAD to my associates, my friends.......
